Euphoria star Angus Cloud had spoken out about reuniting with his co-stars just months before his tragic death on Monday.

The HBO series was preparing for its third season after the huge success of the first two offerings but, fans have had to be patient with the second season finale airing in February 2022.

Last October, Angus shared his high hopes for the third outing of his breakout role, with his character last seen being dragged away by police following a gunfight which saw his adoptive brother Ashtray (Javon Wavon) fatally shot.

"I can't wait to get back to work with everyone. I feel like it's been way too long. I just can't wait to see everyone and working on set again," Angus told E! News before adding he was "definitely not sure what to expect" for Fezco in season three.

Going on to praise Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, he added: "But knowing Sam, it will be good."

Euphoria has been plagued with cancellation rumours as the wait between seasons increases but, actress Maude Apatow shared good news for fans of the hit series earlier this year.

Originally, reports claimed the third season would begin production in early 2023 but the actress revealed in an interview with Vogue that filming should begin in the "latter half of 2023".

“I honestly don’t know a single thing,” Maude said. “We should be getting scripts and hearing about next season soon-ish, but I’m totally in the dark!”

HBO executive Francesca Orsi told Deadline in May that Euphoria will likely return in 2025 following the creator's involvement in controversial show Idol.

Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on Idol but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts,” Orsi said. “We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on Idol .”

The tragic death of Angus will likely impact Euphoria's timeline as Fezco was at the heart of the season two finale.

Meanwhile, the WAG Strike is certainly affecting production and could push season three back even further.
