Ross Kemp is going back behind bars to take an in-depth look at the toughest prisons around the globe. The documentary presenter will chat to some of the world’s most dangerous inmates for a new series on Channel 5.
Ross, 59, was banged up in HMP Belmarsh, South East London, and Barlinnie, Glasgow, for ITV. But now he will go to jails in other regions including Latin America and Asia. The ex-EastEnders star will meet gang leaders, serial killers and drug lords as he discovers what it is like to be locked up among society’s most dangerous.
For the series, which starts shooting this summer and is due to air next year, Ross will find out what it takes to be part of the teams who risk their lives to run these complex institutions. He said he was looking forward to working with Channel 5, adding: “I’ve been to some of the toughest prisons in the UK and all around the world.
