Shane MacGowan's wife has shared a powerful update on her husband's health condition.
The musician who is best known for being a member of The Pogues was recently admitted to the intensive care unit although Victoria didn't go into detail about why he was admitted. She has now revealed that Shane, 65, is on the road to recovery after being transferred to a hospital ward.
Reports suggest that Shane has been in hospital since June of this year although his wife has not disclosed the reason for his lengthy stay. In a new snap shared on her social media page, the singer-songwriter could be seen posing alongside his beloved wife for a selfie.
Both Shane and Victoria were full of smiles as they beamed towards the camera, with Shane's golden tooth instantly standing out. Captioning the upload, she penned: "I just wanted to thank everyone who is sending love and prayers for @ShaneMacGowan we really appreciate it and bless all of you and anyone anywhere who is having health challenges! @poguesofficial."
It comes after Shane was admitted to the intensive care unit (Twitter/@Victoriamary)The post which has been liked over 1,600 times was soon flooded with messages of support from adoring fans of The Pogues who sent their well wishes. One penned: "Send everything positive that can be sent to you... Everything will be fine again! Feel hugged."

While a second added: "Sending prayers & best wishes for a speedy recovery!" A third went on to pen: "Sending all the love I possess."
"Sending prayers for a speedy recovery," typed another. Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "Sending lots of love to you and Shane." Victoria recently opened up about Shane's health scare, telling the Irish Mirror: "He is still in hospital but he is doing well and being looked after. I didn’t want to worry people. He is out of the ICU and doing well."
Last month she also opened up about his health worries in an Instagram post alongside the caption: "There has been a lot of turbulence in my life recently and it’s been very emotional and also scary. But this past few days I have noticed that even though there’s a LOT of fear there is also a huge amount of love and support and incredible blessings. I think that our minds can be VERY resistant to change and to having our lives shaken up and rearranged and we need to be very gentle and patient with ourselves…
