A family caused outrage while visiting a popular and protected UK beauty spot after ignoring warnings not drive onto a beach.
The family had driven to the Outer Hebridean beach in Scotland, where locals warned them pitching a tent on the sand was a very bad idea.
However the group seemed to know better and pitched a safari-style tent with accompanying picnic table on Northton beach. A photograph showed the campers pitched next to the shore, apparently enjoying their close proximity to nature and ocean views.
Locals took to social media to vent their anger at the group, claiming they had ignored signs not to drive onto the beach which is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Peter Harris, who shared the photos to the Isle of Harris Facebook Group, revealed the campers apparently had no intention of moving when warned about the dangers of camping close to the lapping waves.

He wrote: "When asked why they said we are not doing anything wrong and there is no sign saying no camping."
Thousands responded angrily to the post, with many furious they had allegedly breached beach rules, reports the Mail Online. Many joked about the family's car and possessions getting swept away by the tide, with others were concerned for the younger members of the family.
One wrote: "I looked at all the comments on Facebook, some funny etc but it seems they have kids sleeping in the tent as well! I am disgusted by them and hope they go home soon."
The untouched area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code (SOAC) suggests that driving a car on to the beach means the stay wouldn't be classed as wild camping.
