Joe Manganiello has cited "irreconcilable differences" as he filed for a divorce from Sofia Vergara.
The former couple, who were married for seven years revealed on Monday that they were officially breaking up. They shared a joint statement which read: "We have made the difficult decision to divorce.
"As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives."
The statement, which was shared with Page Six, was backed up by a source, who admitted that Sofia and Joe had been "growing apart" for a while and were "taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.
Now, in the divorce documents which were filed by the Magic Mike actor, "irreconcilable differences" have been labelled as the reason for their split.

Laura Wasser, Joe's chosen lawyer, is said to have built a reputation for defending prenups, and sources told the publication that Sofia has no plans to contest it.
Other insiders shared that the pair's childless marriage was becoming a problem for Joe, who wanted children, while Sofia did not. The date of their separation is dated over from as far back as early this month, on July 2nd.
Sources told the Daily Mail that Joe's sobriety caused a rift in their relationship as he "didn't think about the implications" that Sofia's drinking habits could have on their marriage.
“Of course the fact that Sofía is not sober had an impact on their marriage, but he was warned about this when he started dating her and again before marrying her," the insider said.
