Weddings can be stressful for many, especially when it comes to finding the right thing to wear for the big day. We all know the unwritten rule that wearing white to a wedding is a no-go.

However, one bride-to-be has been left distraught as her future mother-in-law has also decided to wear a wedding dress on the bride's biggest day of her life and won't take no for an answer even when confronted. In an anonymous post on Reddit, the bride who is set to get married in a few months claims her mother-in-law is doing it maliciously as she 'doesn't want her to be with her son'.

Taking to the internet to ask what she should do, the bride explained the friction developing with her fiancé's mum as she wrote: "Considering how much she doesn't like me and makes sure I know that she doesn't really want me to be with her son I think it's malicious.

"Also she wanted me to buy my dress from her co-workers - one she knows I didn't like, and the co-worker got divorced.

"I did talk to her, she still ordered the dress, she is dead set on wearing it."

She then further asks: "Please tell me I'm not overreacting."

Other Reddit users have been quick to comment, trying to help the angry bride, telling her that her future husband should be sticking up for her to his 'attention' seeking mum.

One user comments: "It's for attention. I saw a mother of the bride wear a white, sparkly dress to her daughter's wedding. The daughter didn't have the guts to tell her mom to not wear it."

Another suggested: "That's a wedding dress, but let your fiancé be the one to tell her. If she has a history of being rude to you, he should be standing up for you.

"It's not just that being married to a mama's boy is miserable, but it also shows a willingness to throw his future wife under the bus for his own comfort," someone else posted.
