Jamie O’Hara hit out at talkSPORT colleague Jason Cundy for his “absolute nonsense” suggestion that Tottenham should sell Harry Kane this summer.
The North London side are faced with a tricky decision over the forward’s future. He has just a year left on his contract, with Spurs under threat of losing him for free in just 12 months’ time.
Manchester United were initially interested in a deal but have since ended their pursuit due to Daniel Levy’s demands. Bayern Munich are also in the race for Kane having lodged two offers for his signature. Their efforts to take him to Bavaria look set to end in frustration.
Spurs turned down Bayern’s opening offer, whilst they are also set to reject their latest attempt. That is despite Kane already agreeing personal terms with the German giants in a secret meeting with Thomas Tuchel.
talkSPORT pundit Cundy has suggested that Spurs should cash-in and reinvest any fee they receive back into their squad. He said: “Look, he (Levy) might feel Harry Kane will sign a new deal, which he can try.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dash“But the fact that Bayern Munich are coming in now, making the offer, I think the best move for everyone – Postecoglou, Spurs, Daniel Levy and Harry Kane – is to take it now and plan for the future this season and beyond.”

However, former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara certainly did not agree with that stance. He replied: “Nonsense, nonsense. It’s absolute nonsense. How can you even say that?”
Kane is fresh off of a stunning season in the Premier League after hitting 30 goals last term. He only finished behind Erling Haaland in the race to secure the Golden Boot.
The striker will return to Tottenham’s training ground on Wednesday as he gets his pre-season work underway. He is expected to hold talks with new boss Ange Postecoglou.
Despite the new Spurs boss underlining how keen he is to keep the striker at Tottenham, Cundy is not totally convinced and suggested that the former Celtic man would prefer to be without the transfer furore for the next couple of months. He added: “You heard Postecoglou there and what he doesn’t want, and that’s his first interview as Spurs manager in front of the world’s press.
“Imagine what it’s going to be like next March when Harry Kane’s got three months left on his contract. You don’t want that circus, you don’t need that circus.”
However, O’Hara once again disagreed. “If it gets to that point, Jase, you’re going to have to accept that Spurs, he is the talisman to the football club.
“You’ve got a new manager who’s come in. He wants Harry Kane. There’s no manager in the world that doesn’t want Harry Kane in their side - he scored 30 goals in the Premier League last season.
Man Utd finally listen to Ralf Rangnick after ignoring his six-man transfer plan“He’s absolutely flying, he’s at the top of his game. He wants him in the team, he’s not going to go to Daniel Levy and say ‘you know what, I don’t know if I can deal with this circus, let’s get rid of him, let’s get the £100m in or whatever someone is going to pay and I can rebuild.’ He’s not going to do that. He wants the best striker in the world in his side.”
