Eagle-eyed H2O fans have been left in hysterics over a 'blunder' Netflix made when uploading the popular show on to its streaming service. Netflix has removed and reuploaded the fantasy teen drama from its website numerous times over the years - but appears to have made a rookie error when selecting its cover photo this time around.

Created by Jonathan M. Shiff, the show follows three teenage Australian girls who mysteriously become mermaids after visiting Mako Island. Throughout the series, the girls navigate their lives on land and in the water, learning how to control their newly-found mermaid powers. The show, aired in more than 120 countries, has had a resurgence in popularity in recent years, with fans creating their own skits of its iconic scenes.

However, fans have been left questioning whether Netflix made a mistake when reuploading the show on to its website - or whether they're joining in with the widespread jokes being made about it online. In Netflix's cover photo of H2O, the three main characters are seen wearing goggles while swimming underwater as mermaids.

Commenting on the cover photo, one user said: "Netflix what... Why are they wearing goggles?" Another user added: "Ah! I just noticed this yesterday! It’s both funny and confusing. Why are they wearing goggles? Where did they get the picture of them in goggles?"

A third user said: "I just started rewatching H2O today and was so confuzzled when I saw that. Glad I'm not alone in the confusion. I'm also so sad the last two seasons were taken off Netflix! Season two was my favourite. I was so looking forward to that one episode where Nate sprays the ambergris on himself."

One more user added' "Glad someone is talking about this." A fifth user said: "Behind the scenes pictures. Before they learned how to swim underwater without wearing goggles, or practicing episodes, I'm guessing. Still hilarious that they picked these."
