A suspected drunk driver has been accused of biting a police dog multiple times as officers tried to arrest him.
Jamal Wing, 47, was charged with a number of crimes including driving under the influence, resisting arrest and assaulting a law enforcement animal.
Police first pulled over the Delaware man after seeing a black 2021 Toyota Camry through Wilmington speeding in the early hours of July 8. The vehicle pulled over in a parking lot and the driver exited the car, a police report read.
Wing allegedly refused commands to return to his vehicle, and resisted arrest when Delaware State Police officers tried to detain him.
Police were accompanied by a police dog, and during the struggle Wing was accused of biting the dog multiple times.

Troopers claimed they smelled alcohol on his breath and he appeared drunk.
The incident escalated following a traffic stop (Getty Images)He was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the arrest, where he is accused of continuing to struggle with officers.
He allegedly "assaulted a trooper, causing the trooper injury and damaging Delaware State Police property."
Two troopers and the dog called Mako were injured in the fracas.
After being discharged from the hospital, Wing was taken to the police station and charged with:
- Assault Second Degree on Police Officer – 2 counts (Felony)
- Assault First Degree on Law Enforcement Animal (Felony)
- Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol – Third Offense (Felony)
- Resisting Arrest with Force or Violence – 2 counts (Felony)
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Mischief
- Disorderly Conduct
- Failure to Have Required Insurance
- Speeding in Excess of Posted Limits
- Duty to Sign and Carry License
He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
The bond was set at $34,200.
