James Cameron 's Titanic movie is one for the ages and is still hugely popular today, almost 25 years after its release.

The hit flick starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet hit the big screens in 1998 and quickly won plaudits across the world. It told the story of a wealthy teen who meets an artist on board the ill-fated ship and quickly falls in love.

However, one fanatic of the film has pointed out a huge flaw in the production. While it's obvious graphics have hugely improved over the years, they couldn't quite believe just how fake one scene was and took to social media to let their feelings be known.

Despite a lot of the film using real people and real sets, James opted for computer-generated images on a number of scenes and it's safe to say one reconstruction was far from realistic - as one fan has just found out.

The scene in question comes shortly after the iconic ship set sail for the US. As the camera pans over the vessel before honing in on the captain, a viewer has spotted things aren't quite as realistic as James would have hoped.

At first glance, things look perfectly fine. But, in today's world of special effects and high definition screens, a close up has shown it wasn't quite the "real-life" image that would have been hoped for.

As the ship in the scene enters the screen, it's clear that the CGI images aren't as top notch as once thought. Taking to TikTok, a user named Jess shared the images and burst into laughter while doing so.

The clearly fake scene was there in its entirety and Jess can be heard giggling away in the background saying: "It's fake as. Oh God."

She captioned the upload: "I've seen Titanic a million times and only just now while I'm sick at home realised how fake this scene is."

Fans were also as amazed and amused as the sharer and quickly headed to the comments section to join in with the laughs. One user wrote: "It’s giving The Polar Express motion capture animation," while another joked: "Is this the new Sims 4 Titanic expansion pack."

Netflix added the epic movie to its titles on July 1, giving fans a new way to catch the film. It's also still available to stream on Prime Video.
