With energy bills through the roof due to the rising cost of living, many households have invested in energy-saving appliances to keep costs low this winter - from beloved air fryers to handy portable heaters.

Electric blankets have also been extremely popular this winter, helping save shoppers hundreds on their heating bills - and this particular one from Argos has racked up thousands of five-star reviews from delighted customers.

The Dreamland Heated Throw which boasts soft fleece material costs just £60, and can be used as a blanket to put under your duvet, or a throw which is great for when working from home.

It comes with six heat settings and a timer which you can set for one, three or nine hours. Plus, the auto shut-off function means you won’t have to worry about it overheating throughout the night.

According to Argos the blanket costs from just 1p an hour to run (when using the lowest setting), can heat up in just 5 minutes, and is machine washable and tumble dryer safe.

The electric blanket has received thousands of five-star reviews online, with shoppers calling it ‘a fantastic investment’ and a ‘life saver.’

One delighted customer said: “With the energy crisis myself and my daughter got ourselves a heated throw. Without doubt the best thing we have bought we can be toasty warm wherever we are around the house without relying on the central heating.”

A second wrote: I bought this on a whim and have not regretted it at all. It's one of the best things I have ever owned. It heats up so fast, and with the timer controls you can set it and not worry. I fell asleep the first time using it and woke up so warm it was so good. Cheap to run and you only need it for a couple of hours. Highly recommended.”

While a third added: “This is the best product bought in a long time - can't live without it - it is a life-saver in this cold weather and very economical to run in these expensive times.”

You can pick up the Dreamland Heated Throw now for £60 on the Argos website here.

If you’re looking to spend a little less, we’ve spotted a similar electric blanket on B&Q which’ll set you back just £49.49.

The Livivo electric blanket boasts 10 heat settings and nine timer settings which is much more than the £60 Dreamland version can offer.
