Ubisoft has announced that the XDefiant open beta will not be extended, despite the ongoing server issues.

Ubisoft confirmed that XDefiant's open beta won't be extended past it's original end time via a tweet from the official @PlayXDefiant Twitter account earlier today. Despite the game suffering some server issues during the open beta period, including an issue which saw players stuck on the loading screen, players now have only a few hours left to enjoy Ubisoft's attempt at Call of Duty's FPS crown.

XDefiant suffered from a litany of server issues earlier on in the beta period, including matchmaking issues and invites not working for crossplay parties. But unlike the XDefiant closed beta earlier this year, which was extended due to server issues, Ubisoft has decided not to extend the open beta period past the original XDefiant end time.

After XDefiant open beta ends, players will need to wait until later on in the summer as XDefiant is expected to release sometime in the next three months, even if an exact release date is yet unknown.

When does the XDefiant open beta end?

Following confirmation from Ubisoft that the XDefiant open beta won't be extended, players in the UK have until Saturday, June 24 at 7am BST to play Ubisoft's Call of Duty: Warzone rival in this beta period, which is Friday, June 23 at 11pm PDT, or 2am EDT on Saturday, June 24.

The XDefiant open beta is only available for players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with players on PS4 or Xbox One unable to access the beta, despite the full game set to support those platforms when it's released. In terms of a release date, Ubisoft has only given Summer 2023 as an indicative release date, and have so far refrained from confirming a set release date, but we do know that the game will support crossplay across all platforms and that it will be free-to-play.
