The XDefiant open beta has only been live for a few hours, but there are already a few ongoing issues players are experiencing.

Ubisoft launched XDefiant's first open beta on Wednesday evening, following the successful XDefiant closed beta back in April. Players who participated in the closed beta were able to preload the game prior to the open beta starting which, on paper, should have at least mitigated some of the server issues that experienced earlier this year.

But it seems that the sheer number of players trying to access the XDefiant open beta has caused server issues among other problems, and players reporting getting stuck on the loading screen. The closed beta was eventually extended due to the sheer number of issues, but there's no word on that happening with the open beta just yet.

We've rounded up all the latest XDefiant server issues, with the latest updates on their status.

XDefiant server issues - crossplay invites (ongoing)

One of the newest XDefiant open beta issues is players being unable to invite players from other platforms to their game or party. It seems to work some of the time, but it's not consistent.

XDefiant's executive producer Mark Rubin took to Twitter to confirm the issue on Thursday morning and said that the devs are working on fixing the issue.

The XDefiant open beta supports crossplay across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with players on PS4 or Xbox One are unable to play the open beta at all, despite these platforms set to be supported when the full game is released later this summer.

XDefiant server issues - matchmaking (patch released)

The XDefiant open had issues with servers and matchmaking almost immediately on release, with executive producer Mark Rubin describing the reason for the issue as a 'metric overload'.

However, following the launch Ubisoft has released a server-side fix and a server patch which should help with these issues. If you're still experiencing problems, you can let Ubisoft know on social media or its discord server.

XDefiant server issues - stuck on loading screen (patch released)

One of the most common issues with the XDefiant open beta we've seen is players being stuck on the loading screen unable to get into the game at all. This issues seems to be tied in with the above matchmaking and overall server issues the game was experiencing, but as stated earlier, there has been a patch to help with these issues and more updates are expected over the coming hours.

The XDefiant open beta is live now and runs up until Friday, June 23 at 11pm PDT, which is 7am BST / 2am EDT on Saturday, June 24.
