Valorant updates have a tendency to not work as intended for a segment of the player base by remaining stuck at the 0% mark, but there are some ways to fix this.

Valorant gets updates fairly regularly, but sadly, not all of them go smoothly for everyone. Considering the Team Deathmatch mode is on the way in Valorant Episode 7 Act 1 at the time of writing, it's a safe bet to know going into this new Episode what do do if your update fails, or is stuck at 0%, luckily we have you covered.

We've also got some other handy Valorant guides for you too. Including how to fix the dreaded 59 error code. Or if you're looking to improve at the game we have the best Valorant trackers right here for you too. If you've not been able to play Valorant yet because you don't have a PC, we've got all the important information about Valorant coming to console.

How to fix Valorant not updating

There are a few solutions to this issue, so if one of these doesn't work, we'd recommend trying the next one. In this case we've put them in order of least to most complex.

We'll start off with the solution given by Riot Games itself on the Valorant support website which targets an issue stemming from the use of Antivirus software.

Riot Games has specifically mentioned this issue on Avast and AVG Antivirus, so if you're unsure you can check the Avast passive mode and AVG passive mode right here

Another option that has been known to fix this bug is running Valorant as an administrator, this can be done by right clicking the EXE file for Valorant and selecting run as administrator. Other options are relating to drivers. Updating your GPU's graphics drivers and your latest Windows drivers (including the Network Drivers) has been known to work for some players.

Finally, the most annoying option is simply uninstall Riot Vanguard and reinstall it, or failing that, reinstalling the whole game. If none of those work then you'll have to submit a request to Riot Games support team and the team should be able to help you out. It's the boring answer, and won't let you play the game again as quickly as some of these other fixes, but it's the only one that's guaranteed to work every time.
