Emmerdale aired mystery scenes for Charles Anderson on Monday night, as he was left alarmed by some news.
The character took a cryptic phone call, resulting him making a quick exit from the pub.
Whatever the news was remained a secret, as the character hid what he'd learned on the phone from pal Rishi Sharma.
As Rishi asked if he was okay, noticing his anxious expression, Charles claimed he was fine but that there was somewhere he needed to be.
He'd just sat down in The Woolpack with Rishi, who was opening up about his loneliness and his need for a housemate.

During this chat though, Charles' phone began to ring and he stepped outside with a smile on his face to answer it, while it was clear he did not know the caller.
Moments later, he walked back into the pub with an anguished look on his face while he was no longer on the phone.
As Rishi asked him about the call, Charles kept the details to himself and faked a smile.
It's then as he turned around to leave, asking for his bag and claiming something had come up that he needed to sort, that his face once again dropped.
It wasn't explained later in the episode what had happened or who he was speaking to, or why the mystery person called him.
It was clear from the chat that something was bothering Charles and he is hiding something, amid the arrival of his mother Claudette.
Meanwhile upcoming scenes will see the vicar challenged by his mother, after she notices his odd behaviour.
He will the be seen walking towards a prison, where he is met by a mystery male character - but who is he and what does he want?
