Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown had a scary moment this past weekend

Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver AJ Brown came scarily close to being hit by a car this past weekend.

Brown had been riding in the Eagles' sixth annual Autism Challenge, with the All-Pro and Pro-Bowl receiver being on Instagram live when an ongoing vehicle ran a red light, he claimed, and almost hit him.

The 25-year-old had been coming through an intersection with people in the video heard screaming as the vehicle had driven past him.

Brown appears to then fall off of his bike and onto the road, but he confirmed that this was not the case and he just dropped his phone.

With thousands watching the video, Brown reassured those watching on that he was fine - before Tweeting out that he was not hit by the vehicle.

He tweeted: "I'm fine everyone lol. Someone ran the stop sign. I didn't fall off my bike, I just dropped my phone and got out the way. Stay safe everyone."

Brown later made light of the situation, joking that the driver could have been a Dallas Cowboys fan.

He wrote: "I think I saw a star on the license plate," in reference to the Cowboys star logo.

The two teams have a fierce, long-standing rivalry as they battle in the NFC East,and are again expected to be the top sides in the NFC this season.

AJ Brown blossomed into a superstar with the Eagles last season

The Eagles are the strong favourites to return to the Super Bowl, retaining a large number of their free agents and signing quarterback Jalen Hurts to a new contract - one year on from trading for Brown and signing him to a long term deal. Alongside a draft class that looks to be one of the best on paper, with Georgia Bulldogs duo Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith joining their loaded defence, the Eagles are ready to challenge again in the NFC.

The Cowboys meanwhile, will look to bounce back after a disappointing end to a promising year, under new offensive playcaller Brian Schottenheimer following the surprise firing of Kellen Moore - one of the more inventive minds in the league.

Quarterback Dak Prescott struggled last season, but the team looks to be loaded with talent and can compete with Philadelphia.
