Cher "really cares" about her ex-boyfriend Alexander Edwards and the pair could reunite as she celebrates her 77th birthday.
The former couple, who have a 40-year age gap, are said to have called time on their romance just weeks ago after six months of dating.
However, a source has claimed the former lovers could reunite after Cher admitted she "wants more stability in her life".
"Cher is mercurial. And she changes her mind every minute," they said.
"She actually really cares about AE, and now that she's closer to her kids, she wants more stability in her life. Although it's off for now, no one in her close circle would be surprised to see them back together."
Cher, 76, holds hands with boyfriend Alexander, 36, as they head to dinner in LASpeaking about how Cher plans to celebrate her milestone birthday, the source told the Daily Mail that her pal and designer Loree Rodkin has organised a private party with all of Cher's family and friends.
It remains unclear if 37-year-old Alexander will be invited to the fun-filled night.
Cher and Alexander are said to have called time on their romance earlier this month, however it has yet to be confirmed what led to the alleged split.
Prior to their split, the former couple seemed perfect for one another and had even been introduced to each other's children.
Alexander had lovingly referred to Cher's two sons as "my guys", before gushing over how "amazing" Cher is with his own son.
Alexander shares three-year-old son Slash Electric with his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, while Cher is mother to Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman.
Cher shares Chaz with her late ex-husband singer Sonny Bono and Elijah with her second late ex-husband Gregg Allman.
"Chaz is my guy and Elijah, Chaz and Elijah are my guys," Alexander told TMZ.
