Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, is launching a podcast to tackle "some of the biggest and strangest stories from around the world".

The 63-year-old royal confirmed the plans on Instagram yesterday, in a post in which she said the first episode will be released this week.

It's called "Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah" and concerns "the highs and lows of everyday life".

Mike Tindall, Princess Eugenie and the Duchess of Sussex have had their own audio platforms in the past.

In the post shared on Instagram, Fergie wrote: "Long-time friends and tea fans, author Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, and Sarah Jane Thomson, entrepreneur and founder of First News, will be getting to the bottom of week’s talking points while enjoying a soothing cup of tea.

"They learn about themselves, each other and give their take on some of the biggest and strangest stories from around the world.

"No topic is off the table. No biscuit will remain undunked."

She went on to share the hashtag #SpillTheTea on the post.

It's unclear what exact themes Fergie, who was snubbed for a Coronation invite by King Charles but joined the family for the more relaxed occasion of a celebratory concert in Windsor, will be discussing on her podcast.

Princess Eugenie tends to keep her production solely focused on her anti-slavery charity, but both Mike and Meghan have used their platforms to share deeply personal stories about their time in the royal family.

The Duchess of Sussex was awarded a Gracie Award for her Spotify podcast Archetypes, which ran for its first season last year.

The podcast featured guests including tennis ace Serena William, TV star Paris Hilton and pop sensation Mariah Carey.

Archetypes was launched with the aim of investigating "labels that try to hold women back" through conversations between Meghan and historians, experts and women who have experienced being typecast.

Sarah, though, has had business ventures recently, which may feature in the audio platform.

She launched a career as a romantic author for Mills & Boon - promoting a new work titled A Most Intriguing Lady.

The royal also launched a gallery of digital art, which features her own spoken-word poetry overlaid with a visual interpretation of the verses by other artists.
