Mae Muller did the UK proud during Saturday night's Eurovision Song Contest final as she performed on home turf, but it sadly wasn't enough to impress voters across Europe.
The extravaganza came to the UK for the first time in 25 years, the last time being in Birmingham back in 1998.
London singer-songwriter Mae, 25, captivated the audience in the Liverpool Arena with her hit single I Wrote A Song. She was the first female entrant for the UK since SuRie in 2018.
Mae had hoped to build upon Sam Ryder's success in last year's competition where he placed second behind Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra, but sadly she finished second from bottom.
Taking the top spot this year was Loreen for Sweden, closely followed by Käärijä for Finland. Third was Israel followed by Italy and Norway. Mae avoided finishing last in the competition, which was taken by Germany.
The only two countries whose viewers gave the UK any points were Malta and Ukraine. Meanwhile the juries in Sweden, Ukraine, Finland, Ireland and Denmark handed us some points.
The results mean next year's competition will head to Sweden, on the 50th anniversary of Abba's Waterloo success.
The voting public around Europe and the rest of the world had chosen Finland as their favourite by a large margin.
The various juries, however, had a clear favourite in Sweden.
Here's what UK viewers voted for, with highest marks to Finland
But the UK jury had a different view, preferring Sweden and not even giving Finland a point
