The Arizona Cardinals have taken a sly dig at Lamar Jackson in their 2023 schedule release.

In recent years, it has become somewhat traditional for teams to make a big deal of the release of their fixtures for the year - taking to social media to gain a few laughs in announcing who they'll be playing and when.

Teams have found creative new ways in sharing their schedule, with the Tennessee Titans being praised for their attempt this year - going around the streets of Nashville and asking people in the street to name the team by the logo. The Cardinals chose a different route - posting an image from the team that they'd be playing week-by-week, while adding a song next to it.

And when it got to them announcing their game with the Baltimore Ravens, the Cardinals social media team posted an image of Lamar Jackson with the song Running back by Lil Wayne.

This being a reference to Jackson's pre-draft profile, when some teams reportedly asked him to move to running back due to his extreme athleticism and inconsistent throwing. Jackson has been brandished a running back by fans in recent years, winning a lot of games with his ability to run the ball rather than his passing.

But Jackson answered all those critics in 2019, when he won the league's MVP in a dominant season. And while he has not been able to continue in that vein of form, he remains one of the league's best players at the position.

After one particular win in 2019 when he threw for 324 yards with a perfect passer rating, Jackson said on his performance: "Not bad for a running back".

But Jackson was not the only one to be on the receiving end from the Cardinals, who also made particular jibes towards the Atlanta Falcons, posting two songs '28' and '3' - in reference to their 2016 Super Bowl loss when they were up up by that scoreline before losing 34-28.

The Cards also took a shot at the Dallas Cowboys, posting an image of Dak Prescott along with Post Malone's 'I Fall Apart', in reference to the Cowboys inability to win in the playoffs in recent years.
