Meghan Markle was reportedly wearing £150k worth of Princess Diana 's jewellery on her recent hike.
The Duchess of Sussex, who was pictured on her hike with close friends just after the Coronation, wore slouchy and low-key hiking gear which she accessorised with a stack of expensive jewellery. Some of the collection she wore is said to have belonged to her late mother-in-law.
Meghan wore Princess Diana's Cartier Tank Francaise watch, according to fine jewellery and engagement ring experts at Steven Stone. Diana originally began wearing the watch as a replacement for the gold Patek Philippe that Prince Charles had bought her for her 20th birthday.
She stopped wearing the Patek Philippe as her marriage began to unravel and began wearing the Cartier, which was gifted to her from her father, Earl Edward John Spencer on her 21st birthday.
Prince Harry gifted the Diana's Cartier watch to Meghan and she made her debut with the watch in a rare portrait of the couple that was released ahead of the couples episode of Time100 Talks.
'I'm spending £20k on a new bathroom - but won't help my brother out with cash'The watch was worth £17,800 at the time and is now said to be worth more due to its history.
Meghan was also snapped wearing a Cartier diamond tennis bracelet that she had inherited from the former Princess of Wales.
The tennis bracelet, which has been valued at an estimate of £140,000 has been worn by Meghan since 2018. She even wore the statement piece in her tell-all, explosive interview with Oprah in 2021.
The bracelet was gifted to Meghan in their early days of their relationship and it's widely believed that this particular bracelet is the one that Harry took stones from to make Meghan’s bespoke engagement ring.
Zack Stone, managing director of Seven Stone, acknowledged Meghan's sweet tributes to Diana and said: “ Meghan Markle frequently pays tribute to Princess Diana through her jewellery – most notably with the late Princess’ striking aquamarine ring, which the Duchess wore on her wedding day."
