Love Island star Faye Winter has revealed the real reason behind her “heartbreaking and difficult” split from Teddy Soares.
In February, the 27-year-old announced that she had split from Teddy, 26, after months of speculation that the pair had parted ways.
The duo met while competing on Love Island in 2021 and, despite a rocky start, were inseparable after leaving the villa.
Following the split, former estate agent Faye moved back home to Devon and has been focusing on moving on.
The pair stayed quiet on the breakup, but now Faye has revealed why they called time on their year-and-a-half-long relationship.
Love Island's Haris spills on unaired row between Zara and TanyelReality star Faye, 27, has told how she and Teddy, 28, were in “different places” and wanted opposing things, which put a strain on their relationship.
She told MailOnline: “It's been very obvious, especially over the last few months, we just wanted different things. We were just in different places.
“And you know, relationships... they're hard, you know, they're hard things to maintain. People go through breakups every single day. People go through heartbreak every single day.”
Faye told how she’s found the break-up a really difficult situation to go through and that she doesn’t know if she’ll ever be ready to fully tell all about what happened between them.
She added: “But we just wanted really different things… And it's just one of those things, unfortunately, and it is sad. It will always be sad and he'll always hold a very special place in my heart.
“But we've just got to keep moving and it's difficult because everybody wants to know, but at the same time we've got to respect our own privacy and also respect each other's.”
Faye’s comments came just weeks after Teddy said he “has a voice again“ as he discussed their parting ways.
He said: “I have a voice again. I feel like I’m coming out of my shell again and going to events and going out more, which is really nice.”
Faye recently revealed she wouldn't have gotten through the break-up without her dog, Bonnie, by her side, who Teddy recently admitted he misses and “snoops” on.
But the Devon-native told the publication that she’s never stopped her ex seeing the Golden Retriever and has even asked him to come and see her.
