If you have a Netflix membership then you might be missing out on one of the best perks, Netflix Games. Here's how to access the service.
Netflix is an extremely popular streaming service and the subscription even included video games in the mobile app, although it's something which is easy to scroll past and miss. Netflix Games is a service that gives you unlimited access to more than 40 exclusive mobile titles including Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story, Stranger Things: 1984 and Before Your Eyes.
There are no in-game ads, no extra fees and no in-app purchases with all of these games, which is something quite common in the mobile gaming world. The best part? It's all included with your Netflix subscription.
In order to play Netflix Games, you need a compatible device which includes an Android phone or tablet running Android 8.0 or later or iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS / iPadOS 15 or later. You'll also need to make sure you have enough storage space on your device for the game.
You will, of course, need to have to have an active Netflix subscription in order to play Netflix Games, and happily the tier level of your membership doesn't matter. You also need an internet connection in order to download and install any games. We would recommend doing this on Wi-Fi as the game files can be large which can eat up a lot of mobile data.
Bank of Dave self-made millionaire giving away money to 'keep kids working hard'Open up your Netflix mobile app and on the home screen (you may have to scroll) you should see a Netflix Games section. For Android devices, you can also find a games tab. If you're unable to see these options then make sure you have updated your Netflix app to the latest version.
When you find a game you'd like to play, tap it; there should then be a 'get game' button which will direct you to the relevant App Store where you can download it as you would with any other app.
Some games may prompt you to sign in with Netflix and select a profile so it can save your progress. Each profile has independent saves so everyone in your household can take advantage. However, kids' profiles cannot access Netflix Games so keep this in mind.
And that's it, you're ready to play!
An important thing to note is that when you're playing Netflix Games, you are contributing to the Netflix device limit on your account. Multiple people are able to play the same game at once on different devices just as you can with streaming but Netflix may stop you if you have reached your device limit.
Right now, there are more than 40 titles available through Netflix Games. Some are available from other providers but these are 'Netflix editions' which add extra in-game content, making them somewhat exclusive.
