Dylan Douglas has opened up about his actor father Michael Douglas’s bad jokes, saying he ‘can be embarrassing sometimes’.

Dylan, 22, was out with his dad Michael, 78, at the Broadway opening of ‘Good Night, Oscar’.

Smiling for the cameras on the red carpet, father and son attended the show in order to support Michael's former co-star Sean Hayes.

The family appearance saw Dylan, whose mum is Catherine Zeta-Jones, 53, admit his famous dad "can be embarrassing sometimes".

He told Page Six : “More in terms of what he says, rather than who he is. Just dad stuff. [He’s a] bit out of touch, bad jokes for sure!”

Dylan and Michael posed for photographs together at the event.

It isn’t the first time that Dylan has attended a premiere with his father, as he recently accompanied him on the red carpet with his mother Catherine, for the premiere of Marvel film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, in Los Angeles.

Michael had taken on the role of Hank Pym in the films for the third time.

Catherine and Michael met at the 1998 Deauville Film Festival promoting their respective films, before marrying in November 2000, and went on to have Dylan and his sister, Carys, 20.

Dylan previously opened up to Entertainment Tonight about his parents, saying that he was 'very, very proud' of them.

He said: “I mean, obviously, they're great actors, both Academy Award-winning actors, but they're great parents.

“And that's a side that not everyone gets to see, but I get to see every day, in and out. So on that front, they do great. And they also do good work on the screen.”

Catherine hinted that Dylan may be interested in following his parent’s footsteps into becoming an actor.

Speaking to Parade, Catherine revealed: "They’d love to join the [acting] business!

"But they also love learning and are history buffs with acting being just one of their passions, what else are Carys and Dylan interested in?

"My son graduated from Brown University this year and he studied political science.

"My daughter is currently studying foreign relations and diplomacy at school. They got their brains from me, though my husband likes to differ."
