Chelsea legend John Terry has passionately quashed speculation that he helped Graham Potter secure his place in the Stamford Bridge hot-seat and conceded results aren't good enough at the moment.
The Blues languish as low as ninth in the Premier League table and boast just one league win in 2023 so far. Their last outing came at the London Stadium, where Chelsea dropped more points in the form of a 1-1 draw against London rrivals West Ham United.
There were certainly positives to take from the performance, with two of Chelsea's January signings enjoying bright displays with Enzo Fernandez linking up with loan-signing Joao Felix for the opening goal of the game. However, Potter's side were soon pegged back by a familiar face as former Blue Emerson Palmieri equalised for the Hammers.
The result marked a third successive draw and leaves Chelsea 10 points adrift off the Champions League places after 22 games played this term.
Terry enjoyed an illustrious career in West London and knows all about the stature of Chelsea as a club, which is why the five-time Premier League winner has admitted the Blues are currently well below where they need to be.

As a result, this sparked a question from one fan on Instagram wondering whether Terry had a part to play in Potter's appointment back in September.
The Blues icon replied with an emphatic answer, as well as conceding things aren't going well under Potter at the moment.
Terry wrote: "Absolutely not. I tweeted that I loved watching Brighton play and his style of play. I have nothing to do with the first team. I’m working with the [Under] 18s and 21s and love my role.
"Clearly results are not good enough and we need to get a settled team."
Despite more dropped points on Saturday, Potter made an effort to remain upbeat in the aftermath and even told BT Sport that Chelsea are making progress.
"I think you could see positives in the performances for us especially in the first half," the Blues boss claimed. "It was a step forward for us in terms of the previous game and lots to go forward with.
"We are in a process where we are getting guys up to speed, guys match minutes so the ability to sustain what we want to do is the challenge for us so there were positives in the game.
We had real control of the game and it was a cheap goal from our perspective. That lifts the crowd and makes it more difficult but that is something we have to manage better. We will get better from the experience."
