Liverpool have endured a miserable season so far but know a defeat by Merseyside rivals Everton on Monday night would mark a new low.
Jurgen Klopp has cut a frustrated figure in recent weeks, though that is hardly surprising given the Reds recent run of form. Liverpool languish as low as 10th after 20 games played, sitting a hefty 12 points adrift off the Champions League places.
European football of any kind next season for the Anfield-based outfit is becoming an increasingly unlikely prospect, but Klopp will be hoping that a win over their neighbours can be the victory that kick-starts their season.
With that in mind, Mirror Football has identfied some of the main headlines and talking points surrounding Liverpool on Sunday, February 12.

Chelsea complete record-breaking Enzo Fernandez transfer after deadline day rushManchester City boss Pep Guardiola has sent a sly dig in the direction of Liverpool as a club and Reds legend Steven Gerrard over his infamous slip that cost them the title back in 2014.
Guardiola sarcastically quipped how he is surprised the Premier League didn't charge City for Gerrard's slip, implying he feels his side have been hard done by after the league charged the reigning champions for an alleged 115 breaches of financial regulations.
The City manager has already made clear how he feels the charges are being driven by the other clubs in the division and has insisted whatever happens, City's best moments will always belong to them.
"Some moments belong to us - they absolutely belong to us regardless of the sentence," he explained.
"The goal from Aguero, when Balotelli slipped? I don’t know if we are responsible for Steven Gerrard slipping at Anfield. Was that our fault? I have respect for Steven Gerrard - but that moment belongs to us."

Klopp is thought to be "furious" with the former Reds ace Dietmar Hamann as Liverpool's miserable season continues to unravel.
Suffering a steep decline in a number of key metrics, Klopp's side now languish in mid-table mediocrity as they sit 10th in the Premier League table.
In a campaign marred by a number of problems, some felt that the decision of assistant coach Pep Lijnders to release a book didn't help things, including Hamann.
He tweeted: "The alarm bells should have been ringing for Liverpool fans when the current assistant manager wrote a book while still employed by the club. How he was allowed to do it I’m not too sure."

Liverpool's only January signing Cody Gakpo has admitted some close to him wanted the Netherlands ace to join Manchester United instead.
At one stage last month, it seemed certain that the Dutchman would link up with his fellow compatriot Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, but he opted for Merseyside over Manchester.
Gakpo has since revealed that his former boss at PSV Eindhoven, Red Devils legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, wanted him to sign for United.
"I understand why Ruud said that and, to be honest, I spoke to him a lot about United in the summer when the transfer looked like it may be coming.
"But in the winter, not really. It was Ruud’s wish that I went to a big club - and I think I have achieved that with Liverpool."
