Fortnum and Mason is selling handful of Coronation boiled sweets for £75 - more expensive than its champagne

Fortnum and Mason is selling a handful of boiled sweets for King Charles' Coronation for £75.

The posh shop, favourited by the royals, are flogging just 100g of the 'Rose Sweets' at the cost-of-living-crisis busting price.

It comes as millions of Brits are struggling with their weekly shopping bills amid rocketing inflation.

It is being sold as part of the F&M's Coronation collection.

But it's almost double the price of its bubbly.

A Fortnum's Blanc de Blancs Champagne Gift Box costs £42.50.

The individually wrapped sweets come in a metal tin engraved with the shop's trademark F & M initials.

It also comes in a pink gift box that reads: "In celebration of the Coronation of HM King Charles III"

The listing reads: "Celebrate a momentous occasion in British history with our delicious rose sweets, all encased in a handmade tin.

"Exclusive to Fortnum's, this wonderful Pewter Tin has been made in Sheffield and is engraved in celebration of His Majesty the King's Coronation.

"Inside this beautiful keepsake tin you'll discover our all-natural boiled sweets, made in Wales with rose water and dried rose petals by a fifth-generation family of sweet makers."

Other items in the limited edition collection include a picnic hamper for £500.

They are also selling a two-handled mug for a staggering £225.

F&M has two royal warrants, one granted by the late Queen Elizabeth II and the other by Charles himself.
