Britain's Got Talent receives 400 Ofcom complaints over the weekend

Britain's Got Talent received over 400 complaints from furious viewers over the last week.

On April 15, the competition received 66 complaints and the next day saw the complaints spike to 334.

The ITV series returned to our screens last weekend with a fresh set of incredible acts.

However, some were proven "unacceptable and dangerous" to fans as they complained about a dangerous audition.

On Sunday night, a contestant auditioned by taking on the Rubik's Cube... but on fire.

The moment saw a professional stuntman set himself on fire as he tried to solve the iconic 80s puzzle.

Thomas Vu was covered in a fire-retardant gel and left the judges and audience shocked.

"BGT absolutely not on, setting yourself on fire, do not try this at home. Shouldn't be allowed," wrote one viewer.

Another said: "Like what has BGT come to when we set people on fire for entertainment."

"BGT totally ill considered showing a guy setting himself on fire whilst solving a Rubix Cube. No thought to the fact of impressionable children watch the show," someone else added.

Some Ofcom complaints were regarding a flatulence act that had a 'fartist' show off his strange skills.

Viewers called it a "new low" as the opening episode of the series saw a man perform wind tricks.

'Fartist' Ichikawa Koikuchi shocked fans when he started breaking wind to blow out the candles on a birthday cake.

He went on to blow out a dart with the aim of popping a balloon. However, he kept missing the target.

Simon Cowell took to the stage to offer the 'fartist' some support.

Fans immediately took to social media to complain about the audition.

"Has to be a new low for @ITV," one user said while another posted: "At one time, this type of 'act' would never had got through. How low the depths of BGT has fallen. It really is a load of hot air!"

One said: "A new low for #bgt," while another commented: "And so a new low was reached #BGT #BritainsGotTalent."
