Dr Alex George has defended his new controversial show Naked Education, describing it as "life-changing", after it was hit with 930 Ofcom complaints.

The show, fronted by Anna Richardson, Love Island star NHS doctor Alex and Yinka Bokinni, received complaints last week, after scenes which saw adults stand naked in front of teenagers

The aim of the Channel 4 programme is to get rid of the taboos surrounding bodies and help to educate the nation about bodies and what they look like.

The teenagers are given chances to ask the naked adults in front of their questions, with Alex and Yinka overseeing the conversations, and educating the teens about bodies.

Yesterday, Alex said he was proud of the show, but annoyed at himself for letting the opinions of a minority "distract him."

In 2020, Alex's younger brother Llyr took his own life after a long battle with mental illness, and in an Instagram post, Alex says he has since been determined to make a difference.

He wrote: "Im so annoyed at myself. When I lost my brother to mental illness I promised myself I would stop at nothing to prevent other families from living with empty seats at their dinner tables.

"I knew it would be hard. I knew it would mean doing things differently. After all, Einstein’s definition of madness is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."

"God I have faced challenges and struggles over these years, people have told me it’s impossible and so much worse. I have ALWAYS persisted and pushed on. Relentless in my mission."

Alex went on: "The reason I am annoyed at myself is because we created something incredible and life-changing with Naked Education,

"And I let the opinions of a minority of people (who almost certainly hadn’t watched the show) distract from what a life-changing program this is."

The former reality star argued that "to make a real change in the world you have to rock the boat."

"If that means upsetting some people so that we don’t continue on this dreadful trajectory of mental illness, so be it.

"I am proud of Naked Education. Thank you to all our brave and inspiring contributors. I think you should watch this series."

Alex's co-host Anna says the show, which shows people stripping off in front of each other and having frank conversations about their bodies, breaks taboos.

Before the series aired, the Naked Attraction host said: "Naked Education is sort of one step further than Naked Attraction, as it says: 'Let’s normalise bodies, let’s have the conversation about what we go through and let’s educate the nation.'

"I like to make shows that are controversial, that break taboos and that make a difference, and with every single show that I’ve done you can tick one of those boxes."
