Two men have died, and a third is in critical condition, after a car was found in the water off Galway pier.
Emergency services received reports of a car entering the water at Menlo Pier in Galway city, Ireland, around 2.40am.
The Irish police rushed to the scene, where they removed three men from the water.
Tragically, two of the men have passed away since, while a third male is in critical condition in University Hospital Galway.
Following the incident, officers have preserved and sealed off the scene for a technical and forensic examination.

A spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating a fatal single vehicle road traffic incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday 11th February 2023 in County Galway.
“At approximately 2:40am, gardai and emergency services received reports of a car in the water at Menlo Pier in Galway city. Three males were removed from the water and taken to University Hospital Galway where two of the males have since passed away. The condition of the third male is currently described as critical.
“The scene at Menlo Pier is currently preserved for technical examination and the services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested."
Meanwhile, Galway city councillor Frank Fahy, whose family have lived in the village of Menlo for generations, said the incident was a "horrible tragedy".
He added: "I was born and reared in the village, we've never had an incident like that before."
