The King's coronation will be an occasion for the ages - which is why only the very best will do.

Those tasked with pulling off such an historic event, not seen for a generation, will need nerves of steel to carry it off.

However, with little more than three weeks before the big day those nerves are under immense pressure and tested to the absolute limit.

Rehearsal overruns, guest lists and seating plans not confirmed, disputes over outfits and ceremonial robes, it seems there is more commotion handling than coronation planning taking place.

With not only the King and soon to be Queen to worry about, there is also a cast of more than 2,000 to manage, including senior royals and VIPs from across the globe, while worrying about the perfect backdrop to creating a magnificent moment in history.

With several side issues at play, including what to do with a problem like Harry and Meghan (or Prince Andrew for that matter), this nail biter is sure to go right down to the wire.

Outwardly, the palace mood music is very much one of “it’ll be alright on the night”.

One can only hope that is the case.
