Graham Potter's Chelsea reign has been nothing if not turbulent so far, but he still has the chance to make history as Blues boss.

While things have hardly gone to plan domestically, Chelsea's proud European history has kept them in good stead so far as the Blues used all their experience to topple Borussia Dortmund in the last round. The huge task of Real Madrid awaits Potter's men in the last eight, though their full focus for the time being is likely to be on Saturday's home tie against Aston Villa.

Chelsea's league form has been so dismal that should the Blues fall to a 10th league defeat against Unai Emery's men at Stamford Bridge, Villa would actually go above them in the table, leaving Potter's side in the bottom half.

With that in mind, here are the main headlines and talking points centred around Chelsea for Thursday, March 30.

Aubameyang handed second chance

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could rejoin Barcelona this summer, with the Chelsea outcast desperate to return to the Camp Nou after a miserable spell in west London.

Aubameyang has failed to have the desired impact upon returning to the Premier League following his £10.5million transfer to Stamford Bridge last September.

According to reports, the ex-Arsenal man has acknowledged he made a mistake by signing for Chelsea. The Gabonese striker had only spent eight months with Barca, enjoying a run of 13 goals in 24 games and becoming a key player for the Blaugrana.

That's in stark contrast to how he's fared under Graham Potter, scoring just three goals in 17 games and being left out of the Blues' Champions League squad in favour of newer additions in west London.

Former Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is rumoured to have upset the Chelsea hierarchy as he aims to complete a double raid of his old side after he was appointed as Bayern Munich boss last week.

His first move has been to try to bring Blues assistant coach Anthony Barry with him to the Allianz Arena.

Chelsea are holding firm in their stance that Barry is going nowhere, while he has has been told to stay away from the club's Cobham training ground until the matter is resolved.

According to The Times, Bayern are also exploring the possibility of signing Mason Mount. The England ace is about to enter the final year of his Chelsea contract and negotiations over an extension are proving more difficult than first expected.
