The draw for the Champions League quarter-finals takes place on Friday and will forge the pathway to Istanbul for Europe's finest.

Chelsea and Manchester City represent the Premier League after Liverpool and Tottenham were both dumped out at the round of 16 over the past fortnight. Joining them are Italian trio AC Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli, while Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and underdogs Benfica make up the rest of the last eight.

Holders Real Madrid still look like the team to beat, but Man City have their eyes on finally winning the competition seven seasons into Pep Guardiola's reign at the Etihad Stadium. The best two sides will face-off in the final on Saturday, June 10 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul - but first we've got the quarters to decide.

With Italy boasting the most sides in the last eight, English football's hopes of seeing the trophy return to home shores rest on the shoulders of Chelsea and Man City, 2021's finalists. Last week, Graham Potter's Chelsea - who won the Champions League two years ago - truimphed in their second leg at home to German side Borussia Dortmund 2-0 to secure their spot in the quarter-finals.

On Tuesday, Man City blew another German opponent away in the form of RB Leipzig, romping a spectacular 7-0 win. Star striker Erling Haaland became only the third player to score five goals in a single Champions League game, with Guardiola aiming to win the tournament for the first time in 12 years and for the first time without being manager of Barcelona.

Having been criticised for his record in Europe, the Citizens boss quipped after decimating Leipzig: "I'm a failure, in the Champions League. So don't worry. Listen, I'm going to explain a secret. So whatever happens this year in the Champions League... winning... even if I win this Champions League, we win this Champions League... we win three Champions League in a row, I will be a failure."
