Mae Muller has broken her silence after being confirmed as the UK's entry for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.
The singer-songwriter was announced on Wednesday and will be following in the footsteps of Sam Ryder who placed second in the 2022 contest.
Mae, 25, has left bosses behind the competition feeling more confident and believes she will score "far more than nil points when taking to the stage at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena in May.
In recent weeks, Mae, whose real name is Holly Mae Muller has been teasing her track, I Wrote A Song on her TikTok page ahead of the official announcement.
During an appearance on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, the London-born singing sensation said: "Hello, I'm Mae Muller and I'm representing the UK in Eurovision.

"I can't believe I've just said that, it's done, it's out there – I've known for like two months, I'm pretty sure, my timeframe is all over the place at the moment.
"It's been a hot minute and I love to chat."
After hearing her dance track on the radio, Mae added: "This is the most surreal thing, I've been listening to this song in my end, it's top secret for so long."
The singer explained she'd been sat on the news for several months (PA)Sharing his excitement, Rylan Clark said he'd been listening to Mae's song on repeat and was hopeful the hitmaker would go far in the competition.
"I want every single Eurovision fan in this country to get behind our girl because that's exactly what we're going to be doing," he said.
Radio host Zoe Ball explained that Mae was born in the same year the UK last won the competition in 1997 with Katrina and the Waves.
Mae revealed that she has been offered invaluable advice from Sam Ryder since she was confirmed to represent the country.
She said: "To compete in such a massive music competition is simply brilliant," before adding that it is "a dream" to compete in the competition.
The singer who recently toured with Little Mix will take to the stage in Liverpool later this year (Redferns)Mae said of the track: "This song is for the girlies that went through heartache, hurt or pain and came out of the other side, who persevered and came out stronger, who took the high road and chose to love themselves.

"Crying at home? Absolutely not. Spend the night at home? It's a no from me. Trash the benz? Too busy having a stunning time. It's giving growth. It's giving empowerment. It's giving liberation".
Her heartfelt song details how she managed to get revenge on an ex by sharing her story with the lyrics instead of destroying his belongings.
In another video, the star who previously toured with Little Mix said: "I was really annoyed at this guy, I wanted to do something crazy, maybe burn his house down, I don't know, but instead I took the high road and I wrote a song.
"And that's called growth, ladies and gentleman."
