Lizzie Cundy has spoken out about Matt Hancock's leaked WhatsApp messages, branding the politician ‘stupid’.

The TV personality featured on an episode of GB News in which she discussed the former Health Secretary having his WhatsApp messages leaked by journalist Isabel Oakeshott.

Taking to twitter, the media outlet shared a clip of Lizzie providing a voiceover to footage, as she aired her thoughts on the matter.

GB News tweeted: “’The only one who’s come out with any credit is Boris Johnson.’ Lizzie Cundy questions ‘how stupid’ Matt Hancock is after his leaked WhatsApp messages, sent during the height of the Covid pandemic, were leaked into the public domain.”

Lizzie could be heard saying: “It’s like dumber and dumber, when you just don’t think Matt Hancock can get any more dumb!

“I mean, really, handing all of your WhatsApp messages over to a journalist... Err hello?

“She did [sign an NDA] but it was a bog standard one that wasn’t worth the paper it was written on apparently, according to Isabel [Oakeshott].

“And literally, I don’t really know many journalists who would have all of that information that would just say, ‘ok I'll keep it to myself’.

“I mean, oh my word, how stupid is this man? I'm really sorry Matt Hancock.”

The TV personality said she thought it was in the public interest for the messages to be leaked.

She continued: “You know what, I do think it’s in the public interest. He was governing us. He was controlling us through the pandemic.

“I remember walking through Hampstead Heath with a friend and sitting on a bench, and the covid cops came and told us off: ‘do not sit on the bench’.

“He [Matt Hancock] said, ‘go in hard’, if you look at the messages, which are absolutely appalling.

“It does pull the curtain on what goes on with the MPs throughout all of this. I do think it’s in the public interest.”

She continued: “The snake always bites, how stupid are you Matt, I mean unbelievable.

“He's pulling everyone down with him. The only one that has come kind of good out this is Boris Johnson, who is actually saying, ‘do we have to do these lockdowns?’ and was questioning it.”
