Inside Below Deck's show secrets – including six-figure fees and hidden bills

Below Deck's Captain Lee has spilled some of the show's secrets, including the true cost of chartering the boat, along with its unbelievable hidden food and drink fees.

It's a well-known fact that guests on the hit-Bravo reality show get a discounted rate on their trip, but now the Stud of the Sea explains how it still costs them a small fortune.

With a six-figure fare, it's no wonder the captain's boats attract some of the wealthiest people on the planet, but bosses sure know how to run-up their holiday bill.

Taking to Twitter, Lee explained that all guests were required to cover a seemingly unexpected fee that absolutely no one could predict – and fans are fuming.

Replying to a follower asking about the going rate to stay on one of his boats, without a special TV discount, the captain explained it was "about $350,000 a week plus, plus, plus".

And the glaring "plus" that Lee was referring to was the guest's food and drink. That's right, none of that is included in their price and they're billed at the end of their trip.

"Nope," Lee replied to one follower who asked if the extortionate six-figure fee covered fancy meals and endless booze on-board the flashy yachts.

"Food and drinks not included!!!??? My god," Tweeted one follower. While another revealed: "They get a bill for it and for the excursions."

Lee then went onto explain some of the logistics behind filming and why the trips shown on TV only seem to last two to three days over a weekend.

"They are shorter, we could never do one-week charters," he explained. "From a TV standpoint it just wouldn’t work nor be as interesting imo."

The revelations come after some viewers were calling for Lee's retirement after he publicly called out Captain Sandy for sacking his crew member Camille Lamb.

Lee was forced to step down during season 10 of the hit-Bravo reality show due to ongoing health issues "getting worse" - so Captain Sandy stepped in.

During her time on the programme, she decided to remove one of Lee's crew following explosive arguments and drinking on the job.

Live Tweeting his reaction, Lee said Sandy 'lacked respect' and hit out at her 'procedure'. He said: "She made the right call. But lacked in procedure and respect. Just the way I roll."

"I agree with her decision, just not how she went about it," he concluded.

Viewers have since taken to social media, disagreeing with Captain Lee's public reaction to Sandy's decision, calling it 'completely disrespectful'.

"The one who is showing lack of respect is Captain Lee whose ego seems to be in overdrive," penned one viewer. "Sandy didn’t need to inform or consult him.

Another wrote: "Lee asked her to help him. He shouldn’t slam Sandy publicly and just talk with her privately." While a third said: "Unpopular opinion, but Lee should retire."

Taking the stud's side, a fourth said: "I can definitely see where Captain Lee is coming from Sandy likes to stick her nose in places where it shouldn’t be at times."
