Philadelphia Eagles fans collapsed through the top of a bus stop as they defeated the San Francisco 49ers and advanced to the Super Bowl.

The Eagles booked their place in Super Bowl LVII as they crushed the 49ers 31-7 in a one-sided NFC Championship Game. San Francisco suffered a number of key injuries with rookie quarterback Brock Purdy hurting his elbow as he fumbled while his replacement - fourth-string quarterback Josh Johnson - suffered a concussion and left the game himself.

Purdy subsequently returned and played through his injury but the 49ers offence was severely hamstrung as the seventh round pick couldn’t throw the ball effectively. It meant the Eagles coasted to victory on the back of four rushing touchdowns, with running back Miles Sanders snagging two.

Eagles fans are renowned for their passion and wild celebrations. They are living up to their reputation as thousands took to the streets of Philadelphia to celebrate the big win as the franchise clinched a first trip to the Super Bowl since February 2018.

With streets flooded, police had reportedly greased up telephone poles in anticipation of fans going wild in the event of a win.

Speaking afterwards, quarterback Jalen Hurts said: "I know I've been through a lot personally but I won't steer [attention away] from the direction of how good this team has been playing together, being together, challenging one another.

"When we experienced some challenging times we always found a way to overcome, you want to be going into situations like this, we have a chance to go out there and win it all, we're prepared to go do that."
