Jane Fonda has revealed she tried to stay as active as possible after being diagnosed with cancer and continued with her exercises while undergoing brutal chemotherapy.
The Barbarella star, 85, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma back in September before revealing it was in remission in December after she underwent gruelling treatment.
Despite her attempts to keep active, Jane admitted that the chemotherapy was tough and she struggled to keep up with her normal routine.
"It really hit me hard. Sometimes my energy just gave out," she said in a new interview.
Jane said she had to make some changes to her lifestyle while undergoing cancer treatment, including taking the elevator instead of the stairs.
End Of The Road and The Looking Glass actress Dorothy Tristan dies aged 88"Normally, I can hold a push-up for a couple of minutes. When the chemo was in me, after 30 seconds, I’d collapse," she told The Hollywood Reporter.
Jane recently took to Instagram to tell her fans how important it is to stay active, calling it a "blessing".
She shared a video of herself sitting on a stationary exercise bike and said: "The people who already move know why it's not only important but why it's really a blessing.
"Now in my eighties, it's even more important. Suddenly getting in and out of a car is kind of hard unless you have strong thighs.
"So you do it not because of how you look. You want to be able to live fully."
She captioned the post: "Movement isn’t just important, it’s a blessing. Let’s move together in 2023."
Speaking about her health on her blog, Jane said: "I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way. I am confident that it played a role in the good news.
She added: "I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way.
"I am confident that it played a role in the good news.
"I’m especially happy because while my first 4 chemo treatments were rather easy for me, only a few days of being tired, the last chemo session was rough and lasted 2 weeks making it hard to accomplish much of anything."
