The chief suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has moaned he is being treated worse than evil Nazi Joseph Goebbels.

In a rant from behind bars, Christian Brueckner said he is being deprived of his “prison rights” on visitors as authorities fear he will get “sexual satisfaction”.

Brueckner, 45, is serving time for raping a pensioner in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz where Madeleine vanished.

In a letter from Oldenburg jail in Germany, Brueckner moaned: “Not even Goebbels and his war crime fiends were isolated like me when they waited for the death penalty in Nuremberg prison.

“It is against human rights to get isolated for such a long time and in this way. It is the right of prisoners to receive visitors – except for me.

"All I see is my lawyer and the guards, they say if anyone else visits me I will get sexual satisfaction.”

In fact Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda chief, committed suicide with his wife Magda at the end of the war in May 1945 before he could be arrested.

He spoke out as it emerged the ongoing McCann investigation could face delays after demands from Brueckner’s lawyer for the case to be moved to a new jurisdiction on a technicality.

Madeleine’s parents Gerry and Kate, of Rothley, Leics, believe she could be alive.
