Former This Morning star Phillip Schofield is feeling the pinch, three years on from his career-crushing scandal.

Prior to May 2023, Schofield’s production company, Fistral Productions Ltd, boasted over £1million in liquid cash.

The presenter left his hosting role for the ITV breakfast show in 2023, in the wake of an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger male colleague.

This came two years after he announced that he was gay, separating from wife Stephanie Lowe, 62, after 27 years of marriage.

Since then, 66-year-old Schofield, who began his career in television in the 1980s, has struggled to recapture the career he once had.

It’s now been reported that Fistral Productions only recorded a meagre £7,248 during the most recent financial year.

According to the Daily Mail, the company – which once held £3million prior to Covid – dismissed its sole employee earlier this year.

The former Dancing on Ice host currently controls the business with Lowe, with whom he shares two daughters.

The tabloid also reports that their other company, Fistral Properties, remains £96,470 in debt.

As for Schofield, he continues to reside in the £2million house in Chiswick, London, which he purchased in August 2020.

He made a brief return to screens in 2024 when he appeared in the short-lived Channel 5 show Cast Away.

In line with its premise, he spent ten days living alone on a remote Madagascar island – a comeback which was both a critical and financial failure.

Earlier this year, he reflected on his fall from grace, telling the Daily Mail that he now keeps his ‘head down as much as possible.’

‘The past few years were, as you know, utterly brutal on so many levels, and I came to terms with the fact that there was no way back,’ he admitted.

‘I’ve got used to my new life, and I’m content with that and happy.’

The publication also reported that Schofield was ‘no longer in contact’ with former co-star Holly Willoughby, describing their relationship as ‘really toxic’ toward the end.

In the years which followed, Willoughby, 45, has kept radio silence where her former colleague is concerned -even after it was reported he dubbed her ‘the witch’ back in 2024.

‘Holly isn’t batting an eyelid at this, it’s like she couldn’t care less,’ a source told The Sun at the time. ‘Phil is coming across as incredibly bitter.

Schofield’s continued to keep a low profile since then, resurfacing on social media only to back England in the recent World Cup.

He did so by posting a close-up picture of his face, wearing transfer tattoos of the England flag on his forehead and cheek.

‘Bloody s***e transfer’, he joked, signing off with a face-palm emoji and a laughing face.

Other posts to his Instagram grid include an image of the beach where he marked the loss of mother Pat in 2024.

‘When Newquay puts on a show stopping sunset on the day I sprinkle the combined and reunited ashes of mum & dad,’ he wrote at the time.

Schofield has limited comments on his page – which still boasts a healthy balance of 2.5million followers.
