An 11-year-old African Grey parrot calls President Trump a ‘w*nker’ when he comes on TV.
Owner Marie Macleavey often voices her opinions while watching the news, and believes her parrot Lucky Angel picked it up.
According to Marie, Lucky is very vocal about American politics, also shouting ‘up the Democrats’ on occasion.
Lucky Angel also complains when guests smoke or vape in her home.
Marie, an artist from Belfast, Northern Ireland, said: ‘He’s just so entertaining! I used to live in New York, and my sister still does, so I’m pretty invested in the state of politics over there.
‘I was delighted to hear that Lucky had picked up some of my favourite things to shout at the telly.
‘And he also got my cousin to stop vaping by complaining about it so much when she was over!’
Marie has had Lucky since he was two, after seeing an ad for a parrot wanting a new home in her area.
Yesterday, the President vowed to give every adult American a staggering $5,000 (£3,700) payout if the Republicans emerge victorious in the upcoming midterm elections.
The US president said the pledge – which would cost more than a trillion dollars – would come into effect should the party win both chambers of Congress in November’s vote.
He said: ‘If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them, I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000.’
The US president made the controversial promise during a speech at a party convention – the first to be held in the middle of a US presidential term – but stopped short of revealing where the money would come from or how the plan would work.
He did, however, stipulate that the cash would have to be spent in the US. ‘We don’t want you going to Canada to spend the money,’ he added.
