An Edinburgh street has reportedly been left "covered in blood" following a suspected crossbow attack.
The incident, on Durar Drive and Ardshiel Avenue in Clermiston, took place at 8am today. A 42-year-old man was found injured and required hospital treatment.
Three others aged 32, 34 and 60 have been arrested. The area, which includes multiple residential streets, was cordoned off by officers as investigations were carried out.
Images from the scene show multiple police officers at the scene. Other blood-stained items were also seen near a fence, the Daily Record reports.
One local resident said: "There’s blood all over the street. Six police cars are at the street, and it’s all taped off. It’s a bit worrying to see something like this first thing in the morning, to say the least."

Another image from the scene appears to show a baseball cap and an open first aid kit - with forensic markers on the pavement next to each item. Some officers could be seen wearing personal protective equipment including face masks and gloves as they comb through the evidence.
Detectives and police vehicles also remain on site inspecting the aftermath. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8am on Thursday, 25 June, 2026, we were called to a report of a serious assault on Ardshiel Avenue in Edinburgh.
