Wetherspoon pub landlady stabbed in triple stabbing as police swarm the venue

Three people, including the establishment’s landlady were allegedly knifed with cops swarming the Wetherspoon pub and three people arrested in connection with the incident.

Three men have been arrested and a pub in Birmingham has been closed following an alleged triple stabbing at the premises.

The Navigation Inn on Wharf Road, Kings Norton, is closed today (Sunday, January 26) to allow police to investigate the alleged incident, said to have taken place at around 11.15pm on Saturday night (January 25).

Three people remain in hospital with knife wounds, two men and a woman, who is thought to be the pub manager.

The Navigation Inn will not open on Sunday, Wetherspoon confirmed, with a spokesperson stating: "She is not in a life-threatening situation but is having surgery. The pub is closed today while police carry out forensics.

"This was a serious incident at the pub and we are assisting the police. It is horrendous that two people were stabbed and our thoughts are with them and their family and friends.”

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, police said, following a police pursuit just after midnight. He remains in custody. The two male victims in the alleged incident have also been arrested.

"West Midlands Police said on a statement: "We’ve arrested three men after three people were injured in a stabbing at a pub in Birmingham. We were called to the Navigation Inn on Wharf Road in Kings Norton at around 11.15pm yesterday.

"Two men and a woman were taken to hospital with stab wounds where they remain today. Both of the men were subsequently arrested. A 19-year-old man was arrested after we pursued a vehicle just after midnight and remains in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

"We’re carrying out CCTV and house to house enquiries as the investigation continues. Anyone with information, including CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area, should get in touch via Live Chat or 101, quoting log 4653 of 25 January."
