British Airways flights canceled at Heathrow as Storm Lilian is set to hit the UK

British Airways has axed flights at Heathrow Airport as Storm Lilian is making its way to the UK with 80mph winds forecast.

Make your coffee extra strong if you’re scheduled to fly with BA tomorrow morning after a string of cancellations.

The airline has axed a number of international holiday and domestic flights at the London transport hub ahead of the long bank holiday weekend.

List of destinations include holiday hotspots like Barcelona and Rome.

British Airways cancelled eight flights while another five appeared as delayed on the airport departure board and on the BA website.

It comes as the UK nervously anticipates the arrival of Storm Lilian after the Met Office issued yellow weather warnings of strong winds and rain in parts of the country.

Here is a list of all the cancelled British Airways flights from Heathrow on Friday.

British Airways BA BA472 at 6.15 am to Barcelona

British Airways BA1430 at 6.15am to Edinburgh

British Airways BA552 at 6.50am to Rome

British Airways BA304 at 7.10am to Paris

British Airways BA1472 at 7.10am to Glasgow

British Airways BA1304 at 7.30am to Aberdeen

British Airways BA752 at 8.15am to Basel

British Airways BA1370 at 8.45am to Manchester

And here are the five delayed flights.

British Airways BA494 at 1.35pm to Palma

British Airways BA127 at 2.05pm to Doha

British Airways BA171 at 5.05 to Pittsburgh

British Airways BA099 at 5.05pm to Toronto

British Airways BA958 at 8.20pm to Munich

No flights by other carriers appeared as cancelled or delayed as of 8pm tonight.

A British Airways spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘Due to restrictions imposed by Air Traffic Control at Heathrow Airport as a result of forecast adverse weather tomorrow, we’ve made some minor adjustments to our schedule.

‘We’ve apologised to our customers for the disruption to their travel plans and our teams are working to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible.’

Friday’s cancellations come after BA was found to have a cancellation rate of just 3.2% in a global ranking of airlines – compared to the 10.4% of Eastern Airlines on top of the list.
