Cops confirmed two other people have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

A 15-year-old boy has been killed in a horror car crash as cops launch probe and arrest three people.

The tragedy unfolded in the early hours of this morning and paramedics rushed to the scene on Stamfordham Road in West Denton, Newcastle.

A boy, 15, was found with fatal injuries in the single-vehicle collision.

Another boy, 16, is in hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

He is currently under arrest.

Cops confirmed two other people have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They remain in police custody.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "A teenager has sadly died following a collision in Newcastle.

"In the early hours of this morning, we attended a one-vehicle collision that occurred on Stamfordham Road in West Denton.

"Emergency services attended the scene and, sadly, a 15-year-old boy was found to have sustained fatal injuries.

"A second boy, aged 16, is currently in hospital receiving treatment for injuries not believed to be life threatening – and is currently under arrest.

"An investigation has been launched into the full circumstances and as a result, a further two people have been arrested on suspicious of causing death by dangerous driving.

"They remain in police custody at this time."

Inspector Dean Hood, of Northumbria Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident where a young person has sadly lost their life.

“Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this extremely difficult time, and they are currently being supported by our specially trained officers.

“A full investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and we are asking anyone with information that may assist us to come forward.”
