The Royal Family has been overwhelmed with ‘get well soon’ cards as the Princess of Wales undergoes treatment for cancer.

Tens of thousands of cards are understood to have been sent to the royals after Kate, 42, revealed she was undergoing treatment for cancer.

The princess withdrew from public duties to focus on her recovery.

On a normal week, the palace receives a thousand or more letters – but the numbers after Kate’s admission of cancer have far surpassed that, it’s been revealed.

The Mail Online reported that the princess has been ‘out and about’ more with her family in recent weeks as she continues her treatment.

But a senior royal aide clarified: ‘We have been really clear that she needs the space and the privacy to recover right now. She will return to work when she has had the green light from doctors.’

In March, Kate made an emotional announcement, sharing her cancer diagnosis and revealing she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

She said at the time: ‘In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful.

‘However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

‘This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.’

Last week, the Princess released a teaser for a short film designed to highlight the mental health challenges faced by the country’s farmers.

The Prince and Princess of Wales wrote from their official account on X: ‘This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we’ve brought together the inspirational Sam Stables from We Are Farming Minds and the brilliant Farmer Will for a very special film.

‘Spending a day together on Sam’s farm in Hereford they chatted about mental health in the farming community, finding support and the Duchy of Cornwall’s Mental Health Strategy.’

The film is now live and available to watch on YouTube.

The princess does not herself feature in the ten-minute clip.
