Police have closed a road near a London Overground station following a stabbing incident that left two people injured

Two people have been stabbed outside an Overground Station in a busy street in North London.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Kirburn High Road in Brent at around 12pm this afternoon, and cordoned off a section of road in front of The Old Bell Pub.

Police later confirmed a knife attack had taken place and that the victims were a young woman and a man in his 50s.

A London Ambulance services spokesman said: ‘We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer. Our first paramedic was on the scene in under five minutes.

‘We treated two people at the scene. We took one patient to a major trauma centre and one to hospital.’

Pictures from the scene show a crowd of people gathered outside the pub, next to William Hill and Franco Manca.

Multiple police cars and a van can be seen parked outside, while officers patrol the area.

A Met Police spokesperson said: ‘On Thursday, April 25, police were called to Kilburn High Road at 12:04hrs to reports of a stabbing.

‘Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service (LAS) who treated a woman with stab wounds.

‘The woman, in her 20s, has been taken to hospital. Her condition has been assessed as non life-threatening.

‘Further enquiries found that a man, in his 50s, had suffered a slash wound to his hand. He was taken to hospital. His condition has been assessed as non life-threatening. The man and woman are known to each other.
