Prince George takes on a surprising chore during the school holidays - as a farm hand on a royal estate.

The Waleses often spend half terms at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, which was gifted to William and Kate as a wedding present from Queen Elizabeth II. The 10-bedroom property is close to the Sandringham Estate and many of Prince William and Princess Kate's friends live nearby, it is understood.

George particularly enjoys moving feed for animals, including goats, around the farm on Anmer Hall. George and his siblings have been involved in farming for years and, to start with, George and Prince Louis showed the greatest enthusiasm.

The Prince of Wales, 41, had previously said his three children have helped to deliver lambs on a dairy farm. Speaking in 2020, William is believed to have told one of kids' school teachers - whose family runs a dairy farm - the youngsters enjoy the outdoors and the agricultural processes.

"We've been lambing with the children this week," William said. "Charlotte wasn't sure at first, but George was straight in there. Louis loves the tractors."

The youngsters' love for the countryside was reflected at an event last year, during which Louis, then just four, beamed as he was pushed in a wheelbarrow by his mother. Weeks later, the siblings helped at a volunteering project at a Scout hut in Slough, Berkshire.

Speaking previously about the countryside and Anmer Hall, William had said: "We spend as much time as we can here, it's very peaceful." Anmer Hall is a Georgian country house, around 10 miles from King's Lynn. It's part of Sandringham Estate, loved by the Royal Family, particularly Prince Philip.

Speaking in a BBC documentary in 2021, William said: "Sandringham has always been a really, really important part of his life. He was tasked with being the warden, managing the estate from 1952. I think for him, being up here, was an escape. He likes the fact that he's been able to have an impact here… He's planted over 40 kilometres of hedge land, 45 woods, over two million trees. These things really matter to the makeup of the surrounding area."
