In fact, things have got so bad that some 5.3 million Brits live in households in debt to their supplier, according to new research from Citizens Advice.
Energy costs have been steadily creeping up since 2021, as markets grapple with record prices, fuel shortages, rising poverty and slowing economies. "Even small appliances like kettles contribute to overall energy use. Using kettles with low minimum-fill lines and promptly descaling them can result in noticeable energy savings.
