The cheapest pint at Wetherspoon has been revealed in a new study with prices as low as just £2.70 in some areas.
While you can get a cheap beer in some parts of the UK, in pricier areas it could cost you over £4. A study by Alt Index found eight places in the UK where the most popular beer, Carling, is the cheapest, at just £2.63.
This includes spots in Scotland like East Lothian, Inverclyde, and Stirling and Falkirk. The only place in England with such a bargain pint was Rutland. The 20 cheapest places all offer a pint for under £3, including North Lanarkshire at £2.86 and East Yorkshire at £2.92.

Several big cities were among the most expensive, with Leeds and Birmingham at £3.98 and Bristol at £3.78.

There were some big differences between some large cities and their surrounding areas. For example, a pint in Manchester costs £3.56, but in Greater Manchester, it's only £2.86. A Carling in Liverpool is £3.63, but in Merseyside, it's just £2.83.
The study didn't include prices at Wetherspoon pubs at UK airports, where drinks are much more expensive.
